One in three people are already on a Christmas diet in preparation for piling on the pounds during the festive season
One in three Brits are already dieting just so that they can binge and pile back on the pounds over Christmas, a survey has revealed.
The survey of 1,121 UK adults found more than half (51 per cent) of the nation are worried about overindulging and gaining weight at Christmas time.
One in three (32 per cent) health conscious Brits say they are dieting specifically in the months running up to Christmas to allow them to indulge during the festive months.
With Christmas around the corner, we’re all suddenly aware of how fat we’ve become, and it’s apparently time for us to do something about that by going on an emergency diet. Because, as we all know, a thinner you is a better you… according to this research by personal fitness company “Be a Better You”:
Simon Bubb, managing director of Be a Better You Courses, said: ‘Christmas is a lavish and exciting time of year, so it’s easy to get carried away and forget about your healthy diet and fitness plan to indulge in delicious food and drink.
‘If you regularly work out, missing a session in place of a night out with friends isn’t going to do you any harm, but try and keep on track with a healthy, balanced lifestyle on the days you don’t have plans.
‘When eating out at Christmas, whether it be at your work Christmas party or a festive lunch with friends, be sure to allow yourself the treat you deserve. Don’t beat yourself up about the occasional treat, it’s all about balance.’
Very kind of Simon Bubb to allow us to enjoy ourselves at Christmas, so long as we balance out our enjoyment with trips to one of his personal trainers, of course.
