“Life can be worrying!” says insurance company
What are you worrying about? According to recent research, apparently quite a lot:
Worrying costs us a month’s sleep a year
THE stresses of modern life mean we waste a month every year tossing and turning in bed trying to sleep, a study reveals.
Nearly two in three Britons lose two hours of sleep each night worrying – 730 wasted hours, or 30 days, each year.
Stressing about work (34 per cent) and money (33 per cent) are the two main concerns that keep us awake.
With so much of our lives given over to worry, it’s a shame there’s not something we can do to provide ourselves with a safety net, to take some of our worries away.
One in five cannot get a good night’s sleep because of his or her partner’s snoring, say insurers Direct Line, who quizzed 2,000 people on their sleeping habits.
Come to think of it, maybe an insurance company might have some thoughts on how we can stop ourselves worrying about things going wrong, or what we’ll do when things go wrong, or who we can turn to when things go wrong.
