“For god’s sake put some effort into your appearances, women!” says make-up retailer
It’s sad to say, but yet again women have been letting the side down in terms of how much time and attention they dedicate to their appearances:
The Kate effect strikes again! Like the Duchess of Cambridge, more than half of British women haven’t changed their look for FIVE years
While style chameleons such as Rihanna and Miley Cyrus constantly change their look, it seems that for the rest of us, staying true to old favourites trumps freshening up our appearance.
According to a new survey, just like the Duchess of Cambridge, more than two thirds of us admit to eschewing trends in favour of sticking to a style that suits.
And it isn’t just fashion trends that we’re avoiding. More than 56 per cent of women admit to leaving their make-up unchanged over the last five years while 65 per cent say they haven’t changed their hairstyle either.
With so many magazines, newspapers, television shows and adverts constantly telling women how to change their appearances, you’d think they’d take the message! But no, they go right on with their daily lives, as if remodelling themselves every twenty minutes or so wasn’t their main priority in life.
Which company can we thank for highlighting the disgraceful neglect women have been paying to the way they look?
Tom Newbald, a spokesman for Feelunique.com, which carried out the survey, said: ‘It’s no surprise that women prefer to stick to a style that suits them but it’s extremely interesting to see how often they change their look or style.
Thank you, make-up retailer Feelunique.com, for saving us from a society where women prioritise anything more substantial than their appearances and whether they’re working hard enough on how they look. The world owes you a debt of gratitude.
