“People want a relationship like in an Jane Austen novel!” says project promoting Jane Austen
Half of us still believe that we’ll find The One… and just six per cent think you should marry for money
Convinced romance is dead? Not quite, it turns out.
Half of us still believe that we will eventually find ‘The One’, a survey has found.
And even more of us – 86 per cent – believe that being in love is the most important reason for getting married.
By contrast, only six per cent said marrying for money made for a happier life.
One thing is clear: we’re all looking for that perfect relationship, the kind of relationship you read about it novels, you know, novels like the ones written by famous writers:
The YouGov survey, of 2,093 respondents, was carried out to mark the launch of the Austen Project, in which contemporary authors reimagine Jane Austen novels.
