“Getting a proposal right is important!” says engagement ideas website
Being a man carries all manner of pressures, not least when planning he perfect proposal of matrimony:
Proposal fail: Third of women secretly disappointed with how their partner popped the question – and a quarter want to upgrade their ring
Popping the question may be nerve-wracking enough but grooms-to-be today are increasingly under pressure to make a proposal original and extravagant.
A recent study of married couples found that a third were secretly disappointed by the way their partner proposed.
When asked why the milestone moment wasn’t quite the fairy-tale scenario they had imagined, the majority said they were disappointed with the location where their partner went down on one knee.
It seems that simply wanting to spend the rest of your life with someone isn’t enough, but in fact the exact moment you announce your desire to do so is what really matters – and so, so many poor, hapless and useless men are getting it wrong… according to the company behind this article, that is:
The survey of 2,000 UK adults by bespoke jewellery design service Hot Pink found that some traditions were falling out of favour.
Bespoke jewellery service Hot Pink? The same Hot Pink who pride themselves on their very special Proposal Service?
Manu Bhardwaj, founder of Hot Pink, said of the findings: ‘Our survey has provided an interesting snapshot into what is essentially one of the most important events in a couple’s life.
‘It appears that old age traditions of getting on one knee and asking your loved ones parents for permission are becoming a thing of the past.
He added: ‘While there is no doubt that how your loved one proposes, and the ring they give you, doesn’t define a marriage it’s still an important process and one you want to get right.’
And for all the poor men terrified that their carefully-laid plans aren’t good enough, Mr Bhardwaj is willing to be their saviour… for a price.
